Theater Tuschinski - foyer
Considered the most beautiful cinema in the Netherland's, the Theater Tuschinski was named after its founder Abraham Tuschinski. Tuschinski, a Jewish tailor, later died in a Nazi concentration camp during World War II. The movie palace was built in 1921. Its exterior is a cross between Gothic and Art Deco architecture. The main foyer boasts an Art Deco style in the form of red and gold colors. Plush, bright carpet hand-woven in Morocco accent the floor. The foyer also features a bronze and marble bar and paintings of peacocks and other paradise birds. Most recently, this monumental theater underwent restoration in 2001-2002.
